Caribbean Roots and Early Beginnings: Born in Clarendon, Jamaica, and raised in St. Ann’s Parish, Chef Simpson’s culinary journey began at the tender age of nine in his family kitchen. What started as helping with home cooking would eventually blossom into an extraordinary career. During his high school years, he landed an internship at Club Caribbean, where his natural talent caught immediate attention, leading to his first professional role.

The Journey to Excellence: After graduating, Simpson’s career took an exciting turn as he embarked on an 11-year adventure with prestigious cruise lines, including Royal Caribbean and Disney Cruise Lines. This experience exposed him to diverse culinary traditions and techniques, shaping his unique cooking style that would later become his signature.

The Atlantic City location represents a more modern interpretation of his culinary vision while maintaining the authentic flavors that made him famous.

Y’all got Bouncers or Managers???The very first time I came to this bar it was a really dope experience. The second would have been just as great if the employee at the door would not have lied and said they were not accepting walk-ins… little did they know my party of 14 was at the bar several rounds in waiting on me. They let me in with no apology and I ordered food. Last night (my 3rd visit) I wasn’t even able to get in. The restaurant was half full but the front doors were locked. A couple was on their way out and the manager quickly closed and locked the door behind them then waved us away through the glass. Nothing I love more than a black owned spot, but working your door like a nightclub is not the vibe. I’m still giving you five stars for the food, ambience, and diverse staff. That should tell you where the real problem is. THE FRONT DOOR 🚪

I wanted steamed crab but they were out lol. Which caught me off guard lol.. But I ended up getting the lobster curry with rice and the vegetable spring rolls. It was great 💯. My server needed to smile more and staff needs to stop staring people down while guest are eating but other than that, I would definitely like to try other dishes on the menu next time I make a trip to BK.

The food was good, but when it came to the service, everything was chaotic. I didn't get the server's name. I rarely ever saw him. The worst was when it came time to pay, we were planning to tip until we realized that they put a higher tip for themselves and were going to take our volountary tip without informing us of the involuntary one.
